O Grows holds the Community Garden year-round on the rear grounds of the Southside Center for the Arts at 1103 Glenn Street (The driveway is accessible via Johnson Avenue off Glenn Street). The site features a fenced, 10,000 ft2 garden, a 30’x 90’ greenhouse, a workshop, and a livestock area with goats and chickens.
Garden plots are available to all residents. If you are interested in getting involved with the Community Garden, please check out the garden plot menu with the link below.
Keep in mind that gardening fees are waived for clients of the Community Market. Check out the qualifications here.
O Grows staff and local K-12 students maintain all garden areas at the Community Garden and plant crops for donation in any non-leased space. We donate the harvest from this non-leased space to the Community Market in support of our mission.
In addition to regular gardening, O Grows holds Garden Days, which are monthly workshops run by O Grows Staff or O Grows partner organizations to teach adults and children fundamental gardening principles and methods. Garden Days will be announced on our blog and on Facebook.
All Community Garden events are open to the public, and we welcome the opportunity to partner with organizations that have compatible missions. We would love to see you out at the Community Garden soon!
